Physical Education

At Kalgoorlie Primary School, Physical Education plays a vital role in promoting healthy, active lifestyles while developing teamwork, resilience, and a positive attitude towards physical activity. Our Physical Education program provides students with regular opportunities to build fundamental movement skills, improve fitness, and participate confidently in a wide range of sports and activities.

In 2026, Physical Education is taught by Miss Sarah Cosh, who brings eight years of teaching experience from Willetton Senior High School and Eastern Goldfields College. Miss Cosh’s strong background in secondary Physical Education, combined with her passion for student engagement and skill development, supports a high quality and inclusive program for students across the school.

Students participate in structured lessons that focus on skill development, game sense, cooperation, and sportsmanship. Physical Education at Kalgoorlie Primary School continues to be a strength, with students consistently achieving success across interschool sports competitions. Our continued success reflects the commitment of students and staff to training, preparation, and a culture of effort and pride.

Morning fitness remains an important part of the Physical Education program, supporting student wellbeing, stamina, and readiness for learning. These sessions encourage participation, routine, and a positive start to the day for all students.

Currently, students are preparing for faction events through structured activities such as faction relays and cross country practice, held around the outside of the school. These activities build fitness, endurance, and teamwork while preparing students for upcoming carnivals in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Through Physical Education at Kalgoorlie Primary School, students are supported to develop physical skills, confidence, resilience, and a lifelong appreciation for health, sports, and physical activity.
