Book Week and other whole school events are a huge success thanks to Kellie, our amazing librarian! With over 15 years of experience in the library and 31 years living in Kalgoorlie, Kellie has become an integral part of our school community. Before becoming a librarian, she spent 5 years teaching, but her love of books and reading led her to pursue her true passion.
Kellie’s favourite part of her job is interacting with every class in the school. She has an incredible talent for matching each student with the perfect book, series, or genre to spark their interest. Her suggestions are always spot on! Parents, did you know you can speak with Kellie to find appropriate reading options tailored to your child’s needs? You can even borrow books under your child’s name—just pop in and see her from Monday to Thursday or during open night. Kellie is also the creative genius behind our library’s engaging book displays and STEM activities. She’s been busy preparing the library for Book Week, fully embracing this year’s theme, “Reading is Magic,” with a magician’s table and a magic potions lab.
Outside of work, Kellie enjoys reading (so much that she no longer watches TV!), spending time with friends and family, and camping. Her favourite book of all time? Little Women.
